More Space: Increase Capacity up to 60% by optimizing parking space.
Hangar situation with a Towbar-Tractor
Typically situation in a hangar – managed with a conventional tow tractor. The biggest disadvantages are:
- All aircraft faces to the hangars gate because you have to consider the exit path of the tow tractor. Parking directly in a hangars corner is impossible.
- The distance between the aircraft has to be
acceptably big.

Hangar Situation with a Mototok
Same hangar – significantly better result with a Mototok tug:
Park your aircraft directly towards a wall or in the hangars corner. You don’t have to consider the exit path of mototok.
“Stack“ aircraft – park your aircraft with extreme minimal distance. Maneuvering in extreme narrow situations is no problem.
Increase the capacity of your hangar up to 60% by optimizing parking space!

Hangar situation with a Towbar-Tractor
Towing with a conventional Tractor:
In the optimum case 4 Persons needed:
- 2 Wingwalker
- 1 Brakeman in the Cockpit
- 1 Tug-Driver

Circumferential view – only one person with a radio remote control (RRC) needed for moving the aircraft safely.
Safety first
We care about your aircraft.
The hydraulic clamping mechanism of the TWIN-Series encloses the nose wheel fully hydraulically and sensor controlled with gentle force and prevents it from slipping out of the nose wheel platform. This technology is unique in this class of tugs.
A nosewheel is basically offset in order to remain safely on track during take-off and landing. Due to this, ground position point A isnot identical with construction related axis B on the landing gear.
Due to this design-related inclination of the nose wheel suspension, the nose wheel tilts sideways during a rotation of the Mototok. Thehydraulic safety paddles automatically compensate this and gentlyfixes always the nose wheel securely in position.
Automatic Hydraulic Nosegear Loading
Sensor controlled – smart, fast, easy and safe.
Convenient Usage
Loading the nose gear is as simple as tapping a button on the remote.
Thanks to an automatic hydraulic and sensor-controlled system unique in this class of aircraft tugs, loading and unloading the nose gear is quick, simple, and safe with the Mototok Twin-Series. Simply drive the Mototok up to the nose wheel. The wheel is then hydraulically fixed firmly in position and raised – ready for take off! All this with no awkward strap, no inconvenient winch. No bolts or tools are required.
- Radio remote controlled operating under an industrial frequency code approved for airports
- Automatic connection to the aircraft‘s nose wheel with one tap on a button of the remote
- No straps, no winch, no tools required
Suitable for different tire sizes.
As standard, all Mototok Series are equipped with a nose wheel platform consisting of:
- 2 wedges that fix the nose wheel in the lower area and
- 1 or 2 safety paddles (depending on the nose wheel used, can be replaced in a few easy steps, TWIN-Series and M-Series only.)
The safety paddle(s) ensure a secure, force-locked and form-fit fixation of the nose wheel. This safely prevents the nose wheel from sliding out upwards, which would make the aircraft no longer controllable.
Frequently Asked Questions.
Mototok is the market leader in MRO and FBO ground handling operations. Mototok aircraft tugs are the trusted choice of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities and fixed-base operators (FBO) worldwide, used to optimize ground handling operations and increase efficiency.
Fully-electric, towbarless Mototok aircraft tugs allow MRO facilities and fixed-base operators (FBO) to electrify their ground handling operations. Using emission-free Mototok tugs significantly increases the sustainability of MRO and FBO ground handling, thus also contributing to the aviation industry’s net zero goal.
Fully-electric, towbarless Mototok tugs with remote control have several advantages compared to other aircraft tugs that allow MRO facilities and FBOs to increase revenue by significantly increasing their performance in daily ground handling operations. Here are the central advantages of a Mototok tug for MRO- and FBO-purposes:
- Increased time efficiency: Compared to other aircraft tugs, such as conventional tractors with a towbar,Mototoks access aircraft in the hangar more than twice as quickly, when accessing aircraft in the hangar thanks to their compact, towbarless design and remote controlled precision.
- Cost efficiency: Mototok aircraft tugs have the quickest ROI in the industry. They are maintenance free in daily operation and require no special license but only minimal training for ground handling personnel.
- One person operation: Mototok aircraft tugs can be safely operated by a single person thanks to the remote-controlled system enabling circumferential view – no additional wing walker required, ideal for ground handlers at MRO facilities and FBOs.
- Ease of use and safety: The towbarless design and remote control feature of the Mototok ensures ease of use and unparalleled safety. With our unique automatic hydraulic and sensor-controlled system, loading and unloading the nose gear is quick, simple, and safe.
- Optimized hangar capacity: Thanks to the precise maneuverability, remote controlled Mototok tugs help to optimize usage of limited space and increase hangar capacity up to 60 percent.
- Sustainability: Fully-electric Mototok tugs allow MROs and FBOs to electrify their ground handling and are the sustainable alternative to conventional diesel aircraft tugs.
With a Mototok tug, MRO facilities and FBOs can basically use the same tug for all aircraft they do maintenance on – all Mototok tugs are suitable for different tire sizes. However, there are different Mototok series, depending on the aircraft – with the M series being the entry-level model and the TWIN series being the most popular model series for MROs and FBOs:
- The Mototok M-Series is for light business aircraft, turbo props and helicopters.
- Mototok TWIN series tugs are for medium to large business jets and helicopters.
- The Mototok SPACER series is the number one solution for wide-body MRO operations and FBO.
